Steps to Upgrade SQL Server License
1. Download the correct SQL Server Std edition ISO file from the Microsoft Volume Licensing center. May need help from someone with access to the VLSC.
2. Upload the ISO file to the server where the SQL server needs to be updated.
3. Open the ISO file and extract the files.
4. Run Setup as an Administrator.
5. Select Maintenance from the menu.
6. Select Upgrade
7. Click on the license and the license key will be filled in.
8. Click next until you get to upgrade and then click upgrade. When the upgrade is complete, you should get a message that it was successful.
9. Start the MSSQL service.
