PSKill.EXE File Security Alert Response

Good Day {{{Case.ContactName__c}}},

The pskill.exe file is safe. Much like several of the base installation files of the SedonaOffice platform, some have not had any changes since their original build creation and may flag in some antivirus software that use reputation-based heuristics.  Our Development team has been made aware of a few and are working to see if any digital signatures can be updated.

In the interim the pskill.exe file will not impact your SedonaOffice Client use if it was quarantined. However, it will be required for any upcoming SedonaOffice upgrades as its purpose is to stop the Windows SedonaService to ensure users are logged off before performing Client upgrades on the SQL server. This file would not be needed on any of the connected workstations.

The pskill.exe is from Microsoft sysinternals and is included in our code in order to stop running VB processes and Sedona services when updating the Sedona Office license and during upgrading the Sedona Office Client
If there are any other questions outside of alerting our Development team to the AntiVirus flag, please advise.
