Clearing FEP Files

If the FEP will not start or it is suspected old/already processed signals may still reside on the FEP server, it may be necessary to clear out the FEP files. This is recommended either after a crash has occurred and the FEP will not start, or before a failover in the event a split configuration may have occurred.

The FEP files are generally found on the FEP server under C:\FepFiles, however, if that location is not correct you can check the directory by opening the MSM, right-clicking on the FEP to be started, and selecting properties. From the properties, 'Parameter 2' should state '-I' and then the directory location.

Example:

In certain configurations this may be listed next to a different parameter number, however, it will always have '-I' or '-i' as the identifier to the directory.

To back up the FEP files, rename the current 'FepFiles' folder to 'FepFilesBackup' and create a new empty folder called FepFiles. If a backup is not needed, all the contents within the current FepFiles can be deleted.

When the FEP is then started it will create new logs and signal files starting from that moment.
