This document details turning on file logging. It is recommended to not leave this on except for troubleshooting as it can use up system resources and fill hard drive space unnecessarily.
Edit the System Environment Variables
- Open a run dialog and run "sysdm. cpl".
- Select the Advanced tab and click the "Environment Variables..." button.
- Under System variables, select the "New..." button
- Enter in the variable name BOLD_FILE_LOG
- Set the Variable value to the app type to be monitored
- Typically this is set to 42,48, however, it can be set to any of the followers below (comma separated.)
- 42 - MediaGateway
- 48 - PBX Server
- 41 - Telephony Server (Legacy, no longer used unless dialogic cards are necessary)
- Select OK to save changes
- Select OK again on the Environment Variables Window
- Select OK on the System Properties Window
- Log out of the server
- Stop the services added to be logged
- It is recommended to not do a restart so the services properly register the environment variable
- Start the services again
- The services should now be logging into one of the following directories
- C:\Windows\Temp
- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp
Log files created are best viewed with either baretail or notepad++
