Command Line
The MSM can be run in command line mode to automate the starting and stopping of services.
Note: Only Windows services are supported in command line mode. User processes can only be controlled in Windows mode.
-MsmConfig <Name> | Optional parameter to specify the MSM configuration to load. If the parameter is omitted the MSM attempts to load the active configuration if one exists. |
-SysConf <Name> | Required parameter to specify the Manitou System configuration to use. The name must match a system description found in the Supervisor Workstation Configuration screen. |
-Server <Name> | Required parameter that specifies the Manitou server to use. The name must match a machine name found in the Supervisor Workstation Configuration screen. |
-AppType <Name> | Required parameter that specifies the Manitou application type to start or stop. The name must match a description found in the Supervisor Workstation Application Types screen. |
-Timeout <seconds> | Optional parameter that specifies the number of seconds to wait for the start or stop action to be completed. The default value is 30 seconds. |
-Start | Starts a service. This option is mutually exclusive with the –Stop option. |

Parameters:
| -pf<n> | Optional parameter that specifies the TCP port number of the FEP driver to connect to. If omitted, the default is 7701. |
| -wd<d> | Optional parameter that specifies the working directory. If omitted, the current directory is used. |
| -nd<n> | Optional parameter that specifies the number of log days to keep. If omitted, the default is 7 days. |
| -id<n> | Optional parameter that specifies the scanner Id number. If omitted, the default is 1. |
| -db<n> | Optional parameter that specifies whether debug mode is enabled. A value of 0 is “off” and a value of 1 is “on.” The default is “off.” |
| -pa<c> | Optional parameter that specifies the name of serial connection 1. If omitted, “COM1" is used. |
| -sa<s> | Optional parameter that specifies the serial port settings for connection 1. If omitted, the default is “BR1200,BITS8,NOPARITY,DTRHIGH.” |
| -pb<c> | Optional parameter that specifies the name of serial connection 2. If omitted, “COM2” is used. |
| -sb<s> | Optional parameter that specifies the serial port settings for connection 2. If omitted, the default is “BR1200,BITS8,NOPARITY,DTRHIGH.” |
Distributer Client – INSTALLATION ONLY
Command Line Parameters:
| -install | Required parameter that specifies that the Distributer Client service is to be installed. |
| <s1> | Install parameter that specifies the first machine name of a Distributer Server to try to connect to. |
| <s2..9> | Optional install parameter that specifies an additional machine name of a Distributer Server to try to connect to. Up to a total of 9 server names can be specified. |
Distributer Server – INSTALLATION ONLY
Command Line Parameters:
| -install | Required parameter that specifies that the Distributer Server service is to be installed. |
| <p> | Optional install parameter that specifies the path to the DistList.txt and PackageList.txt files. If omitted, the current directory is used. |
