Development - 6-1-2020: Fix for MWC inability to edit Autotext contact point types (v2.1.17)

Issue Description

Error found with editing contacts through BoldNet if those contacts also have an autotext contact point.

If a contact with an AutoText contact point is edited the number in the autotext field will be overwritten. When viewing the contact, instead of displaying a phone number the field will display AutoText.

This occurs even when other fields are edited, such as a password. As long as the contact itself is edited this will occur.

Other changes to the account can be made without triggering this change.

I tested this with a boldnet profile with full permissions to ensure the issue wasn't caused by insufficient permissions, the problem still occurred with full permissions.
I was able to reproduce this issue on our test server.

1. On account 7007, added auto text number to contact Bill and save.
2. Closed the account and then opened it again.
3. Edited contact Bill by changing the password from 1234 to 6789 and saved.
4. Open the account again and the auto text phone number was replaced with Auto Text.
5. This issue does not happen in the Legacy client.

Solution

I have implemented phone number add/edit functionality for AutoText, OpenVoice and AutoTextSimulator. We now read in and display the existing data. We also set the input text entry type to fit what is expected by the Device Output Type selection.

Apply Fix:

  • Run MWC installer on server
