Manitou Core - I-View Now - Installation

The integration with the I-View Now platform is considered an event-based video driver.

Functionality

I-View Now is a cloud-based service that connects with a number of DVR/NVR products providing eventbased clips (pre and post alarm). The web portal records the event and sends the video to the customer via SMS or email and to the central station via XML (IP). It works in conjunction with the alarm panel to only send event-based clips when an alarm condition is transmitted to the central station.

For a complete list of supported hardware, please refer to I-View Now’s website (http://www.iviewnow.com/index.php). The integration with I-View Now is significantly different from other event-based technologies due to the fact that Manitou does not receive or store video clips within the Manitou database. Instead, Manitou receives a binary HTML file that includes an active link to the video clip stored on the cloud. This link is only available while the original alarm is open. Additionally, the link becomes inactive and is no longer available after 10 minutes.

After the alarm is closed or the timeout is reached, the video will no longer play from Manitou. However, it remains accessible through the I-View Now portal. Since Manitou is opening an HTML file to view the video clip, it is present in the user’s default web browser. Manitou clients must have a Flash player installed to render the video within the browser.

NOTE: The I-View Now portal also provides customers with live camera views from browsers and
smartphones. At this time, live view is not supported by Manitou. We hope to include this functionality
in the future.

Installation and Configuration Instructions

Perform the following steps to install and configure I-View Now:
Bold Technologies
1. Add a new Receiver Line Prefix in the Supervisor Workstation for I-View Now.
2. Add a new receiver for I-View Now using the parameters displayed in the following screenshot:

3. Create a new Transmitter Type in the Operator Workstation for I-View Now.
4. Create a new default account for unknown signal processing by navigating to Systems in the Jump
To menu, and then selecting Receivers, and then IVN.
5. Return to the Supervisor Workstation.
6. Select Maintenance, and then Setup, and then Receivers.
7. Update the default account in the Supervisor Workstation with the new IVN account you just
created.
8. Send test signals to Manitou from the alarm system through I-View-Now.
Result: Manitou uses standard Transmitter ID information to associate signals with the customer
system.

At the current time, I-View Now does not send a heartbeat into the Bold XML receiver.
Accordingly, Bold recommends entering “HB=0” in the “Options:” field of the Receiver Types dialog.
Additionally, users may want to set the Event Programming in the Operator Workstation to
“Alarm=No” to prevent Receiver Comms Lost alarms during periods where no signals present.
Note: I-View Now sends event-based video signals in conjunction with standard alarm signals.
Therefore, the video alarm may present as a secondary alarm
