Cannot Update Standard Cost for a Part

If you are trying to update the Standard Cost for a Part but it will not save, check to see if there is an Active Physical Inventory for that Warehouse.

Part Edit

In the Part Edit Screen, select the “Warehouses” tab.
Select the Warehouse that needs to have the Standard Cost updated.
Enter the new Standard Cost amount.
Select “Add”. Then “Save”.

Go back to the “Warehouses” tab for that Part and the Standard Cost did not update.Physical Inventory\Adjustments
Under the Inventory Module select “Physical Inventory\Adjustments”
In the Physical List check to see if there is an Active Physical Inventory for that particular Warehouse.

If there is an Active Physical Inventory for that Warehouse, depending on your Company procedures, you will either have to wait for that Physical Inventory to be Released or you may select “Edit” in the bottom right of the Physical List screen to Release the Physical Inventory.**Caution: If selecting to “Release Physical” make sure you select the correct option – “Release Only” or “Auto Adjust and Release.”

Once the Physical Inventory for that Warehouse is Released, you can now update the Standard Cost for that Part.
